Commander V7.1 now available for download

The latest release of the CrossFire Commander, V7.1, is now available for download from:

http://www.mimas.ac.uk/crossfire/usingxf.html

Please note that Commander 7.1 is only available for PC users running Windows XP or Vista; Windows 2000 users should continue to use the previous version, V7 SP2, which is still available for download. The latest release for Apple Macintosh is V6 SP1.

It is not necessary for users of the previous release of Commander for PC (V7 SP2) to upgrade, but they may wish to do so as V7.1 fixes several bugs and has enhancements to usability such as an improved query window layout and easier navigation of results. V7.1 also includes linking to the full text of journal articles via an institutional OpenURL Resolver (or a default Resolver if your institution does not have its own).

Please note that due to licensing restrictions, the automatic nomenclature program AutoNom is not included in Commander 7.1. Users who wish to continue using AutoNom are advised not to upgrade to V7.1.

If you experience any problems please report them as usual via email to crossfire@mimas.ac.uk
