CrossFire TrainingMIMAS runs a number of Introductory and Advanced CrossFire courses throughout the year. Between May 1997 and July 2000, over 70 courses throughout the UK and Scandinavia were given by the MIMAS CrossFire team. More than 1250 staff and students have attended these events. In-house courses can be arranged by contacting the . We also run open access courses two or three times per year in Manchester and London; these are the courses currently scheduled:

Training MaterialMIMAS has produced a wide range of training material which is distributed at courses and training events throughout the UK and Scandinavia. A selection of this material is available on the web, both for users to download and also in the form of web-based exercises. Downloadable Exercises(For Commander V6) Exercises covering a wide range of topics and examples are also available. The files are available in Word 97 format.
Web-based Exercises(For BC2000) A range of on-line training material has been specially commissioned for this site. There are HTML-based examples which cover the same topics as the downloadable exercises above, and also a series of advanced guides which cover special topics such as use of hyperlinks and exporting results.
MIMAS-XFT(Formerly known as FirePower - for Commander V6)) MIMAS-XFT is self-paced learning material designed to teach new CrossFire users how to get started and also for those that are familiar with the CrossFire system to learn advanced searching and data manipulation techniques. The material is split into two levels, Introductory units and Advanced units. Access to MIMAS-XFT is via federated access (Shibboleth) or OpenAthen institutional login. |
